Hi Sim E04 means condensation on the video heads, a cold wind can cause this, remove battery and warm in your pocket, for 20 minutes. Ben

JVC DV- Error Code E03, but the device won't eject the tape. While trying all of the advised moves, ranging from battery off and side tapping, the main reason I want to figure this out is that the tape in the machine is of some importance.

Can you tell me if there is a method to trigger the cartridge's release, bypassing the usual mechanical eject?

    thanks!!

Hello: My JVC GD-D70U is about a little over a year old. The tape is stuck inside the camcorder and it is not coming out. Further, while recording, it gives a message that the "cap is on", where as in reality the cap is removed. It also gives some code as well, But i am not sure. IT also goes in the safe mode. Please advise.

I have a JVC DVM70. I changed computers to a laptop with an upgraded OS- Win XP.
Now I get a connect error. Could it be a serial or usb driver problem?
Thanks. by the way it's JVC picture navigator software

I too have the E04 Error as well as the Condensation error. This is very frustrating. Can anyone help????. Also, does anyone know if I should use a 4 pin or a 6 pin fire wire cable to transfer movies to my computer?

Did you ever figure out how to get past the "connect error" problem? I have an older JVC GR-DVL 9800U using Picture Navigator. It's been a while since I used it, can't find the manual, and keep getting the error message.
