Hello. I have a Sony SLV-675HF vcr. The original owner gave it to me with a vhs tape is stuck inside that won't eject or play.

When I turn on the vcr, (with the cover off) I can see the thing that looks like a disc start spinning and then stops. An error code is displayed. The first few times it displayed 31805, but then it changed to 31805. When I hit the eject button, the disc spins again and then displays 32505. All other tape functions don't work. Any idea how to eject the tape and fix this? TIA.

I have the exact same problem with my Sony SLV-495 VCR. When I unplug it and plug it back in, the error code is 31805. If I do a soft power cycle, I get 30105 and if I hit eject, it is 32505. My workaround is I will leave it for a good hour or so, and then power it back on. Sometimes it will "catch" on the first try, then I'll hit play right away and it will work. Otherwise the head just spins up and nothing happens. Please reply if you know the solution.

We're experiencing the same problem with our machines and swapping parts show the cause to be the cassette compartments. We're currently working to figure out why. It only happens with large cassettes. -Jim

I have the Sony receiver STR-DA5000ES. Code 11 is appearing when the unit is turned on and then the unit turns itself off. Power cycling the receiver does not cure the problem. Any advice?

I read your post and hope you can help me. I have a Sony DCR TRV20 and it has begun giving me the following error codes. The problem is intermittent as best I can tell; I used the camera over the holidays but today it started again.
    Error Code: C32:30 and C31:30

Let me know your insight. Thanks in advance. I too live in Houston.

    Thanks,

I have had exactly the same thing happen with my TRV20. Started just before Xmas and at times cannot get the tape to eject. Thought initially it was a bad tape but has happened on subsequent tapes. Any knowledge on hos to address would be appreciated. Mike Train

My camera does it intermitently. When it does, I give it smack and gradually assist opening and ejecting the tape. Then I open and blow into the tape area. It has been working fine for the last couple of weeks. For some reason I think it is humidity related but I cannot say for sure. Good Luck, Ron

I have the same problem with my Sony DCR-TRV20. How do you lubricate the hinges of the cassette holder? What do you use, and where do you apply it. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with a panasonic SCDT 310 home cinema system. Prior to this error code appearing it has been serviced twice due to a noisy fan. When everything's unplugged it's fine, but when everything's plugged in , the fan can't cope and gets very noisy. This is what I plug in; 1. The speakers 2. My satellite receiver via optical lead. 3. My video via phono sockets 4. My PS2 via phono sockets. I've owned the system for about 2 yrs and it started going wrong just before the warranty was up. But the service engineer didn't plug anything in so it seemed fine. Anyone have any clue?

I just replaced the STK470-090 voltage regulator chip in a Panasonic SA-AK600 with one I got from Best Buy per this site. The F61 error is gone but the heat sink gets way too hot after a few minutes of operation and the unit automatically turns on when I plug it in. Otherwise it seems to work fine. I advise anyone doing this repair to keep the lid off and power it up to check the temp of the STK470 heat sink before buttoning it up.
