  You made another person happy. It worked!!! A friend at work came ask for help since I'm one of the helpdesk guys here. Did a search in Google, and your posting came up. He tried it a few times, and dented it a little. He was hitting it too hard. LOL!! After a few more times it worked. Thanks again!!!

  This fix really worked ! I could not believe it !!!
  
  People in the repair-shop told me that the screen is white due to electronics failure and that the repair would cost 40 EUR. Bastards !!! ;)

  I am so grateful to have found your 'fix' when I googled my 'white screen' problem on my Sony DSC-W80. I still can't believe it worked! Better than that, it was free! Too bad I missed out on capturing video clips of my daughter's first fieldtrip today. Luckily I had my Canon DSLR (Rebel XTi) as backup and was able to capture those memories through photos.   OH MY GOD!!! I JUST CANNOT BELIEVE THIS THING. Took good care of my camera for years and suddenly this white screen. I was very upset. I wanted a new camera. But I searched the net and found this. Just amazing. Gave it 2 knocks and done. It worked!!! THanks Bob,from Aruba.

  I am totally amazed and impressed by the original post!!!!!!!!!!!! Who would think this would be the solution to an obvious problem? IT WORKED, AMAZING. I am grateful! I wish I would have read this before buying a new camera. Oh well I guess we have a spare now. Your the greatest. Mike

  dear BoB your are my Guru.......It worked few nukkles and the screen is back on from the white look.......tried lots got a $95 quote just to ve a look ... my God u solved my problem what luck i checked ur webpage through google.... u r gr8 hip hip hooray........................muaaaah
